Oakwood Club's 100-Year Anniversary
The storied Oakwood Country Club in Cleveland Heights wanted to revitalize their marketing collateral for the Club's year-long Centennial celebration.
Its two-color newsletter underwent a major upgrade in both design and editorial content to feature 12 installments detailing the Club's history. Each installment featured historical photos of the Club's past. The new layout maximized available space and consolidated regular features wile the reduction in size kept printing costs in check. The result was a dramatic, full-color newsletter that cost just 20% more than its predecessor and that also served as a recruitment tool.
A full-color publication was also developed to showcase the Club's facilities. A folder with vellum insert contained full-color pages that highlighted each major area of the Club.
Indoor and outdoor signage with Centennial branding was developed, and a comprehensive media campaign was launched to publicize the Club's milestone. The latter resulted in year-long media coverage in various local mediums.
Oakwood's web site had a flat appearance and extremely low search ranking. Working within the confines of an industry-hosted product, we were able to create a Members Only portal separate from the public site, add drop-down menus, and develop new sections and pages to accommodate the Club's growth. Revising meta tags and keywords and submitting the site's URL to numerous search engines raised its search ranking dramatically in a short period of time.
